Description: Aileyan picks out R'axe for post Thread Fall wind out.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 9 of Turn 7
People had gathered to Dining Hall to wind out after Thread Fall
(well, except of those who still had duties). It was late because it
had been evening Fall. Aileyan hated those. The darkening sky made
Thread clumps harder to spot. Kitchen staff was bringing food and
drinks. After a Fall like today, people just wanted to celebrate they
were still alive and maybe toast to those who weren't. Aileyan tried
to get into the festive mood. She was alive, Kjarliheth and she had
survived yet another Fall without a scratch. But it was hard, when she
missed U'kaiah so much it hurt. She emptied the wine in her cup.
Shardit, she needed to forget him! She looked around herself. Maybe
she could find someone to ease her loneliness with.
R'axe strode into the Dining Cavern feeling much better than he had
just moments before. Fall had been as grueling as ever, and he had
walked away from Jayth feeling sore and sporting more than a few
aches. After a good soak in the bathing pools, however, he was feeling
refreshed and ready for something warm to fill his belly. He nodded to
a few dragonriders as he made his way to the service table and helped
himself to a bowl of the thick stew and thick, toasted bread. With
that in hand, he made his way to the first empty spot he saw-- and it
was no coincidence that it was beside of a pretty greenrider.
"Evening." He said as he seated himself.
"Good evening," Aileyan replied automatically. She looked him over:
handsome, blond and bluerider. Just what she needed to distract her.
She gave him a smile.
R'axe knew what that smile meant, he had seen it enough times to know,
"How was 'Fall?" He asked conversationally, although he turned his
body a bit more toward her so that they could converse easily.
"Exhausting, even when I did just half of it and in Queen's wing,"
Aileyan replied.
"There is something about flying Threadfall in the cold, and in the
snow, that makes it so much more tiring. And then when it's in the
evening with hardly in light..." R'axe shook his head.
"Yes, and then there's just empty weyr waiting for you..."Aileyan
said, her voice betraying how lonely she felt. Ravyan was with his
fostermother for tonight. There was no sense to pick him up after his
bedtime.
R'axe never missed a beat, "Well, if you don't want to head back to an
empty weyr tonight you can always join me in mine." He put a spoonful
of the stew in his mouth, casting a sideways glance and wink at
Aileyan.
"That sounds like a very good idea, " she replied and gave a smile she
hoped was seductive.
Finishing off his bowl and piece of bread, R'axe pushed the empty tray
away, "Shall we then?" He said, turning and extending his hand to
Aileyan.
"Of course," she replied and took his hand.
R'axe's grin reached into his glowing eyes as he took Aileyan's hand
in his own and led her to his weyr. As a bluerider it was nothing
incredibly grand, but large enough for him and Jayth, and it was
always kept impeccably neat. R'axe never knew who would be over or who
would show up at his door.
"Here we are." He said as he pushed the door open and pulled the
greenrider inside.
Aileyan looked around curiously. Her weyr was actually bit bigger, but
then she had family-weyr because Ravyan spent time with her.
"Wine?" R'axe offered as he closed the door behind Aileyan.
"No thank's," Aileyan said. She already had enough of it. "Too much
and I fall asleep. You don't want that," her voice took a purr.
The bluerider chuckled as he lifted a hand to Aileyan's face, cupping
it gently in the palm of his hand before pulling her close, "You are
right. Sleep is the farthest thing from my mind." He pressed his lips
to hers.
"Mine too," Aileyan said and slipped her hands around his waist.
