Medicinal: The English Oak's bark is astringent and antiseptic, and a deduction of the bark is drunk to treat acute diarrhea, gargled for sore throats, and applied as a compress for burns and cuts. It is added to ointments for cuts and hemorrhoids.
Building: [1] Oak is strong and beautiful for flooring and building of furniture. It is highly durable. It can be used for framing as well but in most cases it is reserved for the more beautiful and visible finishing details.

There are several varieties of oak, and may have different medicinal uses. Acorns are fed to porcines.
Tanner Craft: Oak bark provides tannin- since leather tanners seemed immune to tuberculosis, the bark was once used to treat the disease.
Harper Craft: Oak galls are the primary ingredient in ink.
