Briata comes to see the eggs before the hatching at the Weyrwoman's behest. Orlaith urges her to try and hear the dragonets growing inside, but she doesn't get anything from them just yet.
R'enh and Meledei attended the hatching at River Bluff as Elleth waits back at Dolphin Cove. Rhosyn and G'nir danced together as the Weyrwoman considered the other Weyrleader. She also got to finally talk to the Dragonsfall Weyrwoman who she promised to visit soon. The two of them seem quite friendly.
Briata went to Y'gel to let him know that she was pregnant. The bronzerider offered to provide her with whatever she needed and she refused his offer to weyrmate, which put him in an awkward position. What will the future hold for these two? Y'gel later told the Weyrwoman about his surprise. Briata also writes a letter to Parale at Sunstone to let her know about the baby and the two of them exchange messages.
D'lorn and Y'gel chatted about his new promotion. Then the greenrider helped the new weyrlings through their first day of the rest of their lives. They received an anatomy lesson from the Weyrdragonhealer.
In preparation for the gather at Sunstone Seahold, Briata agrees to assist Rhosyn with getting a wardrobe together. This comes at a good time since one of the Weyr's aunties came to tell the Weyrwoman she should dress more appropriately. Orlaith, on the other hand, gets angry with Nikornath when he doesn't want to come sit with her in the morning.
R'sedel sleeps over at the Weyrwoman's weyr while the two of them enjoy themselves with gossip, food, and other good activities. The greenrider also catches up with D'lorn as they ogle some new transfers. The two of them end up heading off together instead.
Poor Honalyse is so bored that she asks D'lorn what she should do and the greenrider offers some suggestions. We'll see if they do her any good.
