N'vanik and Rhosyn sneak away to the beach to spend some time together. Varija tries to cuddle up to N'vanik but she says the wrong thing and ends up facing his anger.
Varija's green rises and I'lan is the lucky -- well, maybe not so lucky winner! Tavia chats with Sh'dori and she tells him she's pregnant. C'thel teaches Tavia how to skip stones. U'kaiah visits Tavia several times.
Candidate Taeshin has some jealousy issues. Meledei ends up on the receiving end of his less than pleasant attitude. Janani calls him into her office and warns him he's in danger of not being able to Stand. Taeshin helps Vandor and Tavia in the infirmary.
Janani remembers meeting Meledei when she first arrived, and Meledei also has a memory of one of their early meetings. It seems the two goldriders are getting along fine. Meledei meets Xorian, a new Candidate who has left his home and his beloved behind.
An irate Holder comes to the Weyr, accusing them of stealing his children. A confrontation with the Headwoman and the Weyrleader sends him grumbling back home. One of those "stolen" children is Talisian, who gets an introduction to Weyr life from C'jex. Cosani spends a restday with a male friend, gaining some confidence in her sexuality. N'mor and D'ren have a talk about women and love after recovering from the Senior gold Flight.
N'vanik pays a visit to Janani and they get to know each other a little better the best way they know how. Meledei and N'vanik have a talk about the changes at the Weyr. Early in the new Turn, N'vanik welcomes R'enh to the Weyr and offers him the Wingsecond position.
V'con and Ch'din share a flight and afterwards blur the line between hate and lust. Janani spends her promised night with R'mer, and R'mer also gets another invitation from the Headwoman.
A hurricane hits Dolphin Cove at Turn's Beginning, stranding many guests. The Weyr mobilizes to prepare for the storm and everyone rides out the storm. Tavia and Vandor spend the storm in each other's arms.
