The huge news this month is that Traelyn tried to commit suicide and had to be taken to a special Mindhealer Hall. The Weyr was shocked and now has to cope with sudden changes. Qorri rushes to find out what is going on and speaks with N'vanik about what will happen next. N'vanik had to choose an acting Weyrwoman to replace her and named the newly transferred Janani to the role. With too much emotion bottled up, N'vanik heads to his weyr to be comforted by Talryne. Later N'vanik calls in Meledei to let her know what's going on and the young goldrider offers to help in any way she can. Kenza checks in on her friend N'vanik, but there's only so much encouragement she can offer.
Qorri is more than willing to help Janani and does what she can to get the new Weyrwoman settled into her duties. N'vanik drops by to check on Janani as she rearranges the Weyrwoman's office and he vents some of his feelings about Traelyn leaving. Later Janani overhears a pair of cleaning women discussing the rumors about N'vanik and Rhosyn, the River Bluff Weyrwoman. N'vanik has been less than sneaky about his visits to Rhosyn. Janani begins to have doubts about N'vanik remaining Weyrleader.
Janani's gold Angdelouth rises before the end of the month, confirming her as the new Weyrwoman and N'vanik wins his second goldflight ever to remain Weyrleader. After the Flight, the two of them spend time burning off flight lust and come to an understanding.
Tavia comes to talk with the new Weyrwoman to let her know that she's pregnant. She mentions that U'kaiah is the father and it makes Janani reflect on the time they knew other at Dragonsfall. Speaking of Dragonsfall, the Dragonsfall Weyrwoman comes by to meet Janani and both express their wishes to have a friendly relationship.
Tigrid almost literally runs into D'ren on the beach and they have a chat about family and music. Cosani meets C'jex and they chat while washing Shalith. C'jex also has a little fun with D'cal while the two of them are on transport duty.
It seems our Headwoman is quite the flirt. Qorri snags yet another young man, this time bronzerider R'mer. R'mer is stunned when not long after the new Weyrwoman propositions him.
Tavia meets up with her former weyrmate L'rak and she reveals a shocking truth to him. She also invites U'kaiah over to let him know that he will be a father. Vandor gives Tavia her first pregnancy exam.
There's _lots_ going on at Dolphin Cove, and we need Candidates for the upcoming Hatching (hint, hint).
