Physical Description of Persona:
R’kede is short (5’ 5”) and stocky, with thick eyebrows and dark blue eyes. He has close-cropped dark brown hair and, while he shaves every morning, has a 5 o’clock shadow by the afternoon. He loves bright colors and patterns, and can usually be found wearing well-tailored pants or shorts, a flashy shirt, and a few bracelets made by his kids.

Emotional Description of Persona:
R’kede is full of energy and confidence, and often has a smile on his face. As a child he saw his father, who was also short, easily command authority, so he never saw his own height as an impediment. He is a romantic, but is most excited by wooing potential lovers. He has had a string of short-lived relationships and is not particularly interested in anything more long-term.

R’kede remembers off-hand remarks made by friends and lovers and uses that information to buy small gifts or plan outings. His love of colors carries over to his living spaces, which have an eclectic collection of trinkets he likes buying whenever visiting a Gather. He finds it hard to get rid of anything, which has led to his weyr becoming ever more cluttered.

He was arrogant when younger, but time and experience have turned that arrogance into well-earned confidence. He is good with people: assessing their strengths and areas of growth, building rapport, resolving disputes, and mentoring younger riders. He understands the importance of hidework but will happily delegate it to others.

R’kede enjoys spending time with his children but plays more the role of a fun uncle than a committed parent. He loves taking them on outings and playing games, but is not a constant presence in their lives. While he no longer actively practices his craft, he would spend all day in the water if he could.

History of Persona:
Rakeadaw was born at the Seacraft Hall, the youngest of 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He followed in his father’s footsteps by apprenticing as a Seacrafter, enjoying the excitement of traveling on the ocean. However, soon after walking the tables he was Searched. To his father’s dismay, he immediately went to River Bluff Weyr, excited to start a new adventure. He Impressed brown Osherith at 20, then transferred to Windswept Islands Weyr soon after it opened.

R’kede first became a Wingthird at 30, then a Wingsecond at 33. When he was 35, one of the junior golds rose. Osherith had come close in a few gold flights and was highly motivated to win this one. That, combined with the fact that R’kede was in the middle of pursuing the goldrider led both dragon and rider to put their all into the flight. Osherith ended up tangling with a bronze and injuring his wing badly enough that they needed to spend some time grounded and then in the Queen’s Wing while the brown recovered strength and agility.

R’kede became a Wingsecond again after Osherith was fully healed. When the Wingleader was injured in Threadfall, he served as temporary Wingleader for a few sevendays but was then replaced by a younger bronzerider. Dissatisfied with needing to mentor his own Wingleader and ready for a change, he was glad to transfer to Dolphin Cove Weyr to fill an open Wingsecond position. With M’gan’s disappearance, and the knowledge that Weyrleader N’vanik was open to giving chromatic dragonriders leadership positions, R’kede formally applied to the Wingleader position. Now that he has it, he is confident he will do well and hopes the Cyclone Wingriders are open to conducting some of their drills in the water.

Osherith is a dark brown with a reddish tint, and is on the larger side for his size. He has a bulky build, with wings that look slightly too big for him and a tail that looks undersized. He shares his rider’s love of water and knickknacks, and has his own shelf of objects he enjoys looking at.
