Rank: Weyrwoman

Awards
Crayon Awards: Favorite Romantic Couple (August 2025)

Physical Description of Persona:
Thiseta is rather unmemorable for a goldrider. She is plain featured and soft spoken, and she wears her brown hair shoulder-length and often braided back from her face. Her large brown eyes are a bit more mud coloured than she likes to think. She can be a bit of a chameleon, with an acute sense of how to present herself to get the desired results from the people she is dealing with.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Thiseta carries herself with the confidence of a woman who has a gold dragon at her back. Although strong willed, her strength is brittle. Thiseta is both acutely aware of and hates her physical limitations. She abhors being a burden and after being frail for so long is determined to prove to herself that she is fit and well.

She has a love for travel and gets restless when the wind blows strong, although she is fiercely devoted to wherever she calls home at the time. Both she and Imbeth can be overprotective of the people that they call ‘theirs’.

Turns in the Infirmary have given her patience and the ability to thrive in solitude. She has a soft spot for plants and loves to garden, and has turned her weyr into a tiny greenhouse filled with flowers and plants from far-away places.

History of Persona:
Thiseta is the second daughter of a Journeyman Woodcrafter and his second wife, Tabita. Her father, Gambar, traveled extensively and the family was often posted at logging camps while he oversaw harvesting and replanting efforts, although between the ages of five and ten her father was stationed at remote towers to watch for wildfires.

Although initially Searched at the tender age of twelve, Thiseta didn’t travel to Thayan Peak Weyr to Stand until she was eighteen. The busyness of the Weyr was initially overwhelming for a girl who had grown up in the wilderness, but she adapted and found a place for herself working in the fields and kitchen gardens. She had almost aged out of Standing when gold Imbeth claimed her.

Impressing a gold dragon meant that all of Pern was within reach, and Thiseta seized the opportunity by applying for just about any transfer available. As soon as she was able to do so, she transferred to the North for a Turn before returning back to the Southern Continent to Rising Moons Weyr.

They were stationed at Windswept Islands Weyr when Thread returned to Pern. Like many others, she and Imbeth were ‘Scored on their tenth Threadfall and those early lessons and losses have given her a deep respect for what Thread can do. Then she was grounded twice more from complications due to pneumonia. Her lungs were never quite the same after that, and it’s taken nearly four Turns before she could fly a full ‘Fall again without the changes in temperature and pressure stealing her breath. As a result she is paranoid about sickness and visits the Infirmary as infrequently as possible.

Dragon's Name: Imbeth
Dragon's Age: 17
Dragon's Hatching Date: m11 d1
Dragon's Colour: Gold
Description of Dragon:
Imbeth is a medium-sized gold dragon with a warm amber hide, a slim head and tapered wings. She bears several scars on her neck and wings from Threadfall injuries from the beginning of the Pass.

She is strong-willed and cranky, and quite clever for a dragon. She loves green dragons and flits and will happily surround herself with an adoring fair of them.
