Emotional Description of Persona:
Arzel is an exceptionally private man. He comes across as cold and strict, but underneath he a very emotional person ... if you can get in there to see it. Arzel is always very careful to not let his opinions show where they may be taken the wrong way ... such as the fact that he thinks that women should be allowed back in the craft.

History of Persona:
Arzel was born in the 1163rd turn of the interval at River Bluff Weyrhold. His mother, Arima, was a master vintner at the weyrhold and his father was a brownrider named G'zel. Arzel was always more his mother's son and while he and his father got along, there wasn't the connection that there was with his mother. In 1169, when Arzel was 6, his sister Garima was born. Being a good bit older than his sister, Arzel helped his parents take care of her as she was growing up. Arzel started working in the vineyard and brewery shortly after Garima was born. He was supposedly there to help Arima care for the young child, but he found that he felt very much at home in the vintning craft. When he was 13, Arzel begged to be allowed to become an apprentice at the Vintner Hall, and in 1175, he officially moved into the Hall as an apprentice.

Because of her history with the Hall, Arima rarely went to the Vintner Hall. It was more common for Arzel to get a dragon ride to the Weyrhold instead, but Arzel didn't often mention that his mother was a Master vintner in the weyrhold.

Arzel worked hard at his craft and in 1181, at the age of 18, Arzel graduated to Journeyman. Four years later, in the same ceremony when Hallmaster Fielton was promoted to Master, Arzel was promoted to Senior journeyman. Unfortunately, Arima had been made very uncomfortable during her previous visit to the Hall, and Arzel suggested that it would be okay if she stayed at the Weyrhold for his promotion. Garima, however, was able to come and watch her brother get promoted.

In the years that followed, Arzel held himself apart from most of the female folk at the Hall and Hold. He got a fair amount of ribbing from his fellow journeymen, but he managed to hide the laison that he was having from all of them. In 1190, Arzel went to the Weyrhold to watch his sister stand on the impression sands and to impress Green Zoluth. While he was there, his mother gifted him with a firelizard egg that she had been able to obtain. Blue Fizz hatched from the egg a few sevenday later, and with his mother's instruction and his sister's help, Arzel has managed to make Fizz one of the best trained firelizards in the Hall.

In the first turn of the Pass, G'zel died and Arzel went to the Weyr to comfort his family. Garima and her daughter recovered well, but Arima did not seam to be able to get over her grief. Arzel left after a few sevenday, hoping that Garima and Marza, his young neice, would be able to pull Arima out of her depression. Thanks to Fizz, Arzel was able to keep in closer contact with his family in the Weyr and he celebrated when his mother finally shrugged off her depression.

G'zel, 10, Brownrider (RBW) (Father - Deceased)

Fizz is a dark blue firelizard, of average length. He is a well behaved flit. Fizz usually stays outside or in Arzel's quarters unless Arzel needs him. He's amazingly patient and calm for a flit and often plays with the hold and hall children when they're outside.
