Physical Description of Persona:
Xyza is of average height, standing approximately 5'7". Her build is slender, almost sickly, and the foster mothers at the Weyr often chide her for not eating enough. She has a bit of curve at bust and rear, but it is apparent that Xyza lacks the "birthing" figure that is more desired at the Holds. It isn't that Xyza doesn't take care of herself, as she obviously took a good deal of basic healer classes, her small frame just doesn't seem to hold weight well. Xyza spends much of her time outside, and swims frequently, so her body does have a decent tan. Her hair flows wavy to the middle of her back, and is a medium brown, with lighter highlights. Her facial features are small, making her appear younger than her 25 turns. Xyza has wide-set blue-green eyes, which adds to her youthful appearance. Overall, Xyza has a "pleasant" appearance, but is not the type of woman that provokes staring or men lining up at her door.

Xyza generally favors loose, airy clothing in blues and greens. When not in her office at the infirmary, she can be found at the weyrlake, or swimming in the ocean. She is fond of braided wherhide bracelets, belts and anklets, as well as wherhide sandals. She carries herself with grace, and is fond of dancing. Xyza's voice is a high soprano, and she sings reasonably well due to her father's Harper training.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Xyza was a shy, sensitive child who grew up into a patient, gentle adult. She has a strong willed desire to succeed, yet at the same time does her best not to hurt others in pursuit of her own success. Xyza is a very honest person, to the point of fault, which helps her with her counseling somewhat as she doesn't allow her patients to lie to themselves anymore than she would lie to them. In addition to being a good counselor, she is often called in to help mediate disputes when no Harper is available, as she has the ability to look at both sides of an argument without bias.

Xyza appreciates the sensual side of life, and enjoys bright colors, comfortable clothing, fragrant flowers, and delicious pastries. She is very fond of nature, and spends much of her free time on the beach, or in the water. She prefers to focus on the smaller things in life in order to distract herself from the sometimes-stressful nature of her work. If she let's her resolve slip, it's easy for her to succumb to the despair of her patients, especially those that have taken threadfall injuries and the like. Xyza has a great deal of empathy towards other people, and often ends up taking their emotional burdens as her own. In her free time, she likes to be around optimistic, friendly people to counter what she has to work with on a daily basis.

Xyza prides herself on her intelligence, and like memorizing random facts that no one else cares about. She can seem somewhat annoying, or even stuck up to others, which is detrimental to her greater good as she thrives best when she's around other people. She does have to combat a bit of her Healer's detachment in order to get to know people on a personal level though. That's not to say she puts people off entirely, as Xyza has the type of personality that draws people in. She is a peaceful person, who likes going with the flow of a situation rather than making waves. Despite her resistance to a permanent relationship, she often has bouts of loneliness late at night that causes her to lose much sleep. She has the bad fault of trying to analyze herself, which often results in a quick bout of depression. If she had to diagnose herself, she'd most likely state that she was overly dependent on other people.

Despite liking to be around other people, Xyza is hardly a follower, preferring to develop her own opinions. She also eschews trends, and wears what she likes, and what she finds comfortable, rather than trying to adopt Pern's latest fashions. Xyza is open minded about things that she has no defined opinion about, but once her opinions have been made, it is nearly impossible to convince her to change them. When her opinions are questioned, she tends to react poorly, as she is not fond of being questioned by others. Xyza is terribly hard to predict as well, which is "refreshing" for some men who have this fantasy she's going to save them from their boring realities, but in truth, Xyza is just a screwed up woman trying to find her own piece of mind…

History of Persona:
Xyza was born at River Bluff Weyr, the daughter of a Harper father, and a greenrider mother. She was the only child of Xyrii's who wasn't aborted /between/ as the flighty greenrider had an impossible time trying to follow her Healer's directions. Xyza was raised primarily by her father, as Xyrii often was busy taking care of her dragon. As a result, Xyza quickly became a daddy's girl, and it appeared that she would follow in her father's footsteps as a Harper.

At the age of 12 turns, when it came time for her to apprentice, she turned down the invitation to study with the Master Harper at the Weyr. Instead, she began studying with one of the Weyr's Master Healers, as at the time, she had a crush on a Journeyman Healer who told her she had an aptitude for dealing with people. The crush ended quickly with Xyza having her heart broken, but fortunately the boy had been correct in predicting her aptitude. Minus a quick bit of squeamishness when she first got started in the Healer craft, she excelled in her studies. She quickly was promoted to Sr. Apprentice, and began working toward her promotion to Jr. Journeywoman.

Throughout most of her turns as an Apprentice, she avoided males entirely, as she didn't want to have her heart broken again, and she wanted to make sure she excelled at her studies. Despite her not being around males, she had many friends with boyfriends, who were constantly confessing their crushes, and asking her for relationship advice. She proved to be quite good at advising her friends, because her advice was more or less unbiased by prior relationship knowledge.

After walking the tables, she relaxed somewhat, and allowed herself some relationships, but was what she herself termed a "serial monogamist" – she didn't hop from bed to bed, but rather preferred to hop from relationship to relationship. Whenever things started to get serious, she left. She just preferred her freedom. Xyza being a very flexible and adaptable person, she liked the occasional change. She also found that many of her suitors expected her to settle down with them, and produce offspring. Lacking the typical birthing hips, and knowing the stress that pregnancy causes to a woman's body, Xyza was hardly one to want to reproduce.

In her Journeywoman's studies, she focused on Mindhealing, as she realized she had an aptitude for helping people with their problems. After being promoted to Senior Journeywoman, she started focusing on primarily relationship based Mindhealing, although she doesn't restrict her patients to just those. Throughout the turns, she had hoped to Impress, but never managed to. She used to be bothered by this, but now believes she has found her true purpose on Pern. Her recent focus has been both on counseling, and on someday attaining her mastery.

Xaige is a deep emerald green, with lighter wingsails and stomach. She is small for a green, and is not particularly good at delivering messages, or in fact, anything that requires training. She has a knack for collecting shinies, and bringing them back to her mistress, which has a knack of getting Xyza in trouble, as she struggles to return all those goods to their owners.
