Physical Description of Persona:
Barthella is a cook, and needs to taste the cooking. Often. Standing about 5' 6" she is, as she calls it, fluffy. However she carries her weight well, and no one ever thinks of her as fat. With her sparkling blue eyes and long thick brown hair, she looks younger than her age, which is a definite advantage in her second favorite past time.

Emotional Description of Persona:
In the kitchen, she is a dynamo. Seemingly every where at once, there is only one way to do things in her kicthen, her way. This is part of the reason Bhervehan coaxed her away from where she was. He had worked with her before and knew that if she was in his kitchen, that was one less thing he needed to worry about.

Outside of the kitchen, Bartella is rather more complex. Barthella really enjoys the company of a man. However, she is thoroughly devoted to her cooking, and is not really good at relationships. Therefore she goes through cycles of contentment, and then gets increasingly cranky as either the relationship sours, or as she feels the need to get back into a relationship. Bhervehan says he can tell where she is in a relationship by the seasoning of her Roast Herdbeast.

History of Persona:
Born at the Baker Crafthall, her parents were both craftmasters, so it surprised no one that she made the kitchen her profession. Even if she could not apprentice at her parents Hall in the post-plague South, she could still learn to cook. And she learned well.

When she was 18 she gave birth to her daughter, Galima. Barthella refused to say who the father of the child was. If the child had the same unusual eye color of the Hallmaster, no one has seen fit to mention it.

Two turns later, she was more than happy to announce that the owner of the local tavern would be the father of her next child, even if her parents were less than thrilled and insisted upon a speedy marriage. Five turns later she was widowed when Pozzel died from an infection he received while hunting with friends.
Less than a turn after that, she married Pozzel's brother Lonzel, who had taken over the tavern. Six month's later she gave birth the Lonella. When the baby was not long walking, Lonzel, Lonella and a young serving girl from the tavern vanished, and Barthella has not heard from him since.

After that, she moved to Sapphire Meadows where she met Bherevhan and convinced the Master Brewer to turn her loose in his kitchen. From that point on, the two have maintained a friendship which has, eventually, lead to her becoming the head cook at what he considers the high point of his career.
