Physical Description of Persona:
White hair has replaced the non-descript brown of his youth. His grey eyes are kind and gentle but miss very little. Though once he was thin and willowy, he has filled out a but with the passing of time. His long thin fingers are still as nimble as ever.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Though sharp and attentive to detail, Almonteo also knows when to turn a blind-eye. He is gentle and generous to the those under him, but he is not one that can be walked all over. When dealing with matters of discipline he is a firm believer in letting the punishment fit the crime. He can be stubborn to a fault at times, but his wife has gentle ways of helping him change his mind while still saving face.

Almonteo has never lost his love of composing and can often be heard humming as he walks the halls or while doing hidework. Walking the halls is one of his favorite past-times, as is dropping into classes unannounced. He feels it keeps both the instructors and students on their toes and gives him a chance to see first hand what is happening in his Hall.

History of Persona:
From an early age, Almonteo loved the music at the gathers - especially the dance music. Once the music began it was hard to tear him away from the front of the stage, unless it was for a dance. The music was exciting and lively and seemed to stir him deep inside. From the way the gatherers danced, he could tell it could move them too. It was not surprising to his father when his young son begged to be apprenticed to the Harper Hall.

There he threw himself into learning the instruments used to play music for dancing. He especially excelled at the pipes with his long, slender, and nimble fingers. Though he enjoyed playing, his true passion was writing dance music. He longed to write music that would move the people like those dance tunes he had heard at gathers of his youth.

One Gather changed his life forever. As he was playing his set for the dancers, one young woman stood out from the crowd, literally, and fixed her gaze on Almonteo. He played several sets that night, and each time there would be the girl staring up at him with a smile. They exchanged smiles and glances all evening until finally he worked up the courage to talk to her. Her name was Carmora, and she was newly fostered to a minor hold in the area. They spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing and she promised to come to the next gather.

True to her word, the very next Gather she was there gazing up at him as he played. By their fourth gather meeting Almonteo was convinced that he wanted no other woman than Carmora. They were married a turn later and she gave him four wonderful children.

After a couple of assignments journeying, Almonteo and his young family settled into the Hall where he excelled as a dance music composer and teacher. At the age of 47 he was promoted to Hallsecond, and remained in that position for 19 turns until the great fire at the Emerald Falls Harperhall. With their Hallmaster gone, the Craftmaster turned to Almonteo to fill the void. He was eager to except and started in on convincing his beloved wife. Though she did not want to leave their children far behind, she finally relented and they started out on a new chapter of their lives together.
