Physical Description of Persona:
Kelasen is a strapping young farmboy, five foot six and broad at the shoulders. His long limbs are tanned and his hands calloused already from working in the fields. He has fairly unremarkable brown eyes, and his brown hair has just started to grow out of its roughly trimmed state.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Kelasen comes across as determined but awkward - he wants to succeed, he desperately wants a dragon, but he hasn't quite got over leaving the quiet little cothold he grew up in yet. Weyrs are still new and frightening places, and he certainly hasn't adjusted to the openness of society found in them - in a way, he's afraid to do so, in case he doesn't find a lifemate and has to return to the farmer's life that he recently left.

History of Persona:
Born to Hethel, a moderately successful cotholder, and his second wife Kelatha, Kelasen was a quiet and biddable child. Hethel's first wife Meloma had given him a son and two daughters (the last of which killed her in the process), and his second continued to add to the burgeoning family.

As Kelasen approached twelve, noises were made about apprenticing him to the Farmcraft or Beastcraft, but the docile boy showed little aptitude for anything but simple labour - at which he excelled, being a great help around the farm - and was deeply upset by the notion of leaving home. It looked like he was set to remain a labourer on his family's lands for good until the dragon came.

Hethel had no problem with the dragon coming to Search amongst his family, although he was hoping that maybe the Searchrider would take some of his overabundance of daughters rather than his hardworking second son. Nevertheless, he understood his duty to the Weyr and bid his son a fond farewell.

For his part, Kelasen was secretly glad to be chosen, if rather baffled as to what a dragon would want with him. He had fallen in love with the glorious blue creature who had come to Search him, and was becoming restless at the farm despite his earlier attitudes to leaving it. Maybe he wasn't smart enough to be a Crafter, but the dragon had picked him from among his siblings for a chance at one of its kind - maybe he would amount to something after all.

When the rumour came around the candidates at RBW that the older ones were getting a chance to stand at DCW, he gathered his courage and asked to be included in those heading over. He wasn't near the age where he could no longer stand, but he wanted every chance he could get.
