Persona Profile: Pelome

Writer: DL

Name: Pelome
Age: 39
Birthday: m11 d12
Rank: Wingrider, Cyclone Wing
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Craft: Weaver
Craft Rank: Junior Apprentice

Physical Description of Persona:
At first glance, Pelome comes across as nothing spectacular to the eye. She is willowy, around 5'6, and still fragile looking despite Turns of dragonriding. Dainty hands are covered in nicks and scratches. Her uniform sandy brown hair is usually kept in a basic braid, with wisps escaping here and there. Pelome's eyes are large and light brown, framed by beautiful lashes, which capture onlooker's attention, much to her embarrassment.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Pelome is the epitome of shyness. She prefers solitude and the company of her dragon. Observant and level-headed, Pelome's opinion is trusted by others, even if she stumbles over her words in giving it. She is rarely heard giving a disparaging remark unless it's about herself. When it comes to what is right, however, Pelome shows backbone and refuses to back down, even if she is only standing up quietly for it. Mostly, Pelome wants to find lasting love and be left to work on her weavings in her free time.

History of Persona:
Pelome is the eldest daughter of two Hold residents who believed their homely daughter would never amount to much, despite their best efforts to introduce her to plenty of potential mates. The girl's shyness was overwhelming as a child and for many Turns, her parents thought her mute.

The girl, however, showed promise in weaving and her parents decided that marriage would have to be forfeited. At the age of fifteen, a terrified Pelome was sent off to study Weavercraft. She was only there three Turns before her life took a drastic tangent and she found herself confronted with a curious Searchdragon.

Her first Hatching was somewhere between traumatic and awe-inspiring. Pelome never found the right words to describe it but when she was left alone on the Sands, she decided that she would stay at the Weyr until she either Impressed or was declared too old. It took another two Hatchings before tiny, jade Nystroth picked her out. Pelome was nearly twenty-two.

The runt of the weyrling class, Pelome and Nystroth nevertheless tried hard and managed to carve a niche for themselves in a wing when they Graduated. Pelome even managed to secure a few friends, one of them another green weyrling named
Quenn. Theirs was an odd relationship - outgoing Quenn against introverted Pelome - but it worked.

Sadly, their friendship was short-lived. Quenn was fatally Scored and died later that night, Pelome in silent vigil for her friend. At the age of twenty-seven, Pelome spent the next Turn in quiet, showing up for practice but never socializing with her wingmates. She would eventually show up to gatherings but never quite recovered the social life she had while friends with Quenn.

Dragon's Name: Nystroth
Dragon's Age: 18
Dragon's Hatching Date: m3 d25
Dragon's Colour: Green
Description of Dragon:
Nystroth is a beautifully uniform jade green hue.
Dainty in size, she ranks among the smaller dragons of the Weyr. Her speed and agility have kept her unmarred as of yet.

Nystroth is a pleasant dragon - willing to talk to anyone who initiates conversation and glad to perform tasks assigned to her. She's more outgoing than her rider but also enjoys time alone with her.
