Persona Profile: D'naz (Inactive)

Writer: Ames

Name: D'naz
Age: 42
Birthday: m4 d4
Rank: Weyrlingstaff Assistant
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Craft: Harper
Craft Rank: Junior Journeyman
Speciality: Teaching

Physical Description of Persona:
Standing just slightly below average height, D'naz more than makes up for it in his stockier build. He's well muscled, but solid with a wider than average shoulder width. His face has a rounder, plumper look, though he's not out of shape or overweight by any means. His jet black hair is often left to fend for itself, causing it to stand on edge or stick in in more than one direction. He _tries_ to tame it, but a cowlick makes it stick right back up, so D'naz has stopped fighting it and accepted that his hair has a mind of it's own.

His eyes are a muddled green color, darker than some greens, making them almost appear to be more than one color at the same time.

Emotional Description of Persona:
D'naz is a proud man, who works hard at whatever task is assigned to him. He has a good teaching disposition, which lead him to work with the weyrling wings at various times since becoming a rider.

He's a bit of a loud talker. His voice booming over others, especially when overly happy or overly drunk. He enjoys a good spot of ale, beer or other alcoholic beverage, though he always knows when to draw the line.

D'naz enjoys a good spot of fun and has been known to engage in some practical jokes or be the recipient of such banter among his friends in the Weyr.

He's a storyteller by trade and loves to engage an audience with tales of all sorts, real or exaggerated.

History of Persona:
D'naz was searched from the Harper Hall at a fairly young age. He had never really considering becoming a rider as most riders at the time came only from within the Weyr. It was, therefore, a surprise when a particular rider and dragon, who happened to be at the Harper Hall on other business, stopped him and expressed that the dragon had sensed he _could_ be a good candidate for rider. D'naz was asked if he was interested in such a proposition. It wasn't a difficult choice for him. He agreed and was oon on his way to the Weyr, where he soon Impressed Keluth.

Prior to the pass, he had continued his Harpering studies, advancing to the rank of junior journeyman while continuing his duties in the Weyr.

D'naz had a knack for storytelling and teaching and was often called upon to assist with the young ones around the Weyr. With a few younglings of his own smattered amid the weyrbrats, he always enjoyed their company. He's served as a weyrlingstaff assistant for various Turns, taking a break to rejoin the regular fighting ranks as needed.

However, he always finds his heart is calling him back to working and guiding the young ones as they begin their journey with their dragons. So, when the spot of Weyrlingmaster Second opened, D'naz petitioned for the job and was granted the request to move back to the weyrling wing and take one more responsibility than he had before with any of the weyrlings.

D'naz lost N'ril, his weyrmate of many Turns, during one of the very first Falls of the Pass. While this disheartened him, his positive outlook on life would not allow him to mope around for long.

Dragon's Name: Keluth
Dragon's Age: 27
Dragon's Hatching Date: m1 d15
Dragon's Colour: Blue
Description of Dragon:
Keluth is an easy-going dragon, much like his rider. He is excellent at encouraging young dragons during their early training.

Keluth is patient and skilled in many areas of flying and fighting. He's a fun-loving, easy-going dragon most of the time. He also has a very curious side and has more than once in their younger days gotten the pair into a spot of trouble due to this curiosity.

Keluth enjoys working with the new weyrling pairs as they help to satisfy his curious nature as he watches them grow and helps them with their skills.
