Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr

Meledei looked up to see G'len approaching from her left. How many people had she greeted and had greeted her by then? She had lost count. Her mind was full of a blur of faces, a few standing out, but most muddling together. Still, G'len was known to her and she knew she would be under his jurisdiction with the rest of the Weyrlingmaster staff.
"Congratulations," G'len said by way of greeting. He had been pleased to see the little queen in good health. Not that there had been any real worry, but it was a relief that the Hatching had been uneventful; except for the Impression of the harper boy, but that would be dealt with. He hoped Elleth had made a good choice.
}:Of course she did. They always do:{ Tobereth reassured him.
"Thank you, weyrlingmaster." Meledei had heard that phrase so many times that day. She was starting to get tired. The day had been long and there had been so many people. She loved people, but even Meledei had her limits. "I look forward to working with you and the other staff."
She appeared to have a good head on her shoulders. "You might not be saying that in a few days," he replied with a grin. "Is Elleth sleeping?"
"She is for now." Meledei couldn't help but smile at the Assistant's comment. "And you're right, I might not be saying that in a few days. I can think positively, though, right?"
"That's the way to make it through weyrlinghood. Well," he amended, "that and a lot of hard work."
"I'm used to hard work." Meledei assured him. Used to it indeed, she worked hard all of her life and she wasn't about to stop now, especially with Elleth.
"Good. That will hold you in good stead." He had not worries about her, at least not yet. Who knew what time would tell.
