Much has happened at the River Bluff but the big story is the mating Flight of the senior gold, Orlaith. Once again Nikornath was chosen, making K'sedel the Weyrleader till another Flight. The Weyrwoman herself hurried out there from sleep and apparently ended up with quite a sunscorching when it was all over. She went to her weyr, saw the healers, and rested.
Gelira the candidate was asked to help her after getting Y'gel's permission (as the girl's Master) while she healed and the girl agreed not to broadcast the fact that Rhosyn had ended up boiled. So did K'sedel and Lenala-who was acting Weyrwoman for the time being. Only certain Weyrfolk were allowed to see the Weyrwoman, Solieira being one of them. When N'vanik and R'enh came over from Dolphin Cove Weyr, the Weyrleader was upset when he wasn't allowed inside to speak with her. Gelira tried to stop him and when that didn't work, Orlaith blocked his path. Reeva the healer went to speak with him, but that only made him more angry.
So the men finally turned and went to speak with K'sedel. The Weyrleader, despite promising Rhosyn, told N'vanik what was wrong which angered the Dolphin Cove bronzerider. K'sedel came back to check on his Weyrwoman after a little bit and she didn't look very good. There was a possibility of infection and she had a fever, brought on by the stress of N'vanik's pushing.
D'ren and Lenala had a little chat, meanwhile, and it seems the young bronzerider actually might want to strike up a friendship.
Before the Flight, the Weyrwoman, Uetia, and U'das' daughter planned a birthingday party for the Wingleader. It looks like it'll be a good one for most of the Weyr to attend. Y'gel tells Rhosyn about his weyrmating with Briata and she's very happy about the prospect, letting him know that they had already spoken about the baby and Briata becoming a fostermother. There might be a ceremony in the works.
The bluerider, E'rae, and Bahji are seen once again together as they go up to his weyr. Apparently, the blind girl is enjoying Weyrlife a bit too much. Stay tuned for more from this pair.
U'das and U'fouinn finally talk it out and the pair seems to reconcile, promising to be closer in the future. Just in time it seems.
The rumors are flying around the Weyr and the South about the Weyrwoman. Is she hurt? Is she pregnant? Did she lose a baby? Is she dying? Spread some rumors and listen to some. Turnover is here and there will be festivities for that! However, Rhosyn is going to be conspicuously absent from them.
