Z'ku

Z'ku

By the time T'kob arrived in the weyrling barracks, Sorsha was crying in the corner with her arms around Roseth, and Ri'len was standing by the bunks with Monilath. Embereth had told him what he could from talking with and calming down the two young dragons, and T'kob was none too pleased. He approached Ri'len first, "What happened?"

"We got a bit carried away." Ri'len's jaw was set, not from obstinance but from anger at himself for letting things go too far. He should have stopped sooner, shouldn't have pushed it.

T'kob grunted. He was disappointed in Ri'len, more so than Sorsha considering he was older and trained up at his hold for responsibility, but he wasn't necessarily surprised. It happened on occasion that emotions confused the dragonets, and these two had obviously realized it before things went to far... still. "Well that's obvious. Is Monilath okay?"

"Monilath is fine. He wasn't troubled by this at all." No, but Roseth was and Ri'len was almost as bothered by that as having troubled the green. "I'm sorry, Weyrlingmaster." The young man started to duck his head, then straightened up and looked T'kob straight in the eye. "Please don't punish Sorsha. It was my fault. I take full responsibility.""

"No, it's my fault." Sorsha interjected as she approached the two. Her face was wet and blotchy from crying, she was so ashamed at her behavior, but she couldn't let Ri'len take the blame for this, not when she'd so very nearly hurt Roseth.

"It's _both_ of your faults." T'kob corrected them as he noticed Roseth's eyes were still swirling orange as she came up with Sorsha. "Check your emotions Sorsha, Roseth is still upset though Embereth says she's fine."

"It is _my_ fault." Ri'len insisted, though his voice was soft.

T'kob sighed, this wasn't solving anything. He had one weyrling drowning in guilt, and another one drowning in tears; neither behavior was good for the young dragons. "Look, I understand that it was an accident, and I'm guessing by your reactions that it's not one you'll be likely to make again. So calm down," he looked at Sorsha again, "so your dragons can."

Sorsha nodded and took several deep breaths as she assured Roseth that she was alright. Roseth was still tense though she'd been assured by both Embereth _and_ Sorsha that nobody was trying to hurt her lifemate.

}:Embereth, can you tell Elleth and Xemroth that I need their riders to come to the barracks please?:{ T'kob told his bronze while he watched Sorsha. She was relaxing, though he noticed that she stood a fair distance away from Ri'len. "I realize this situation has been difficult for you, what with you two being married and all before Impressing, but I'm going to have to separate you two until you're seniors."

Ri'len didn't need to tell Monilath to calm down for the dragon was not worked up at all. Instead, he settled down near Roseth, crooning softly in an attempt to help her to get calm.

}:The Weyrlingmaster wishes you to return to the barracks.:{

**What? Now?** Meledei looked down at her food. She had _just_ sat down to eat when Elleth delivered Embereth's request.

}:It is important.:{ Meledei sighed and pushed her food away. She'd just have to get dinner later.

Meledei made her way to the barracks taking note that Z'ku was coming along as well. So he had been called too? Had they done something wrong? Meledei honestly couldn't think of anything that would have gotten her into trouble. The weyrling's lips turning down in a frown when she slipped into the barracks and saw Ri'len, Sorsha, and T'kob, their faces all solemn. "What's wrong?"

Sorsha wanted to run to Meledei and cry all over again, but she planted her feet and focused on a spot on the floor. She had to keep her emotions in check and seeking comfort from her friend wasn't a good way of doing that right now.

"There was an incident." T'kob started. There was no point in covering it up, the group could use the example, and it wasn't like the dragons would keep it to themselves anyways. "Ri'len and Sorsha are to be kept apart until they become Seniors. You, Meledei, as Sorsha's group leader are to stay with her at all times unless told otherwise by one of the Weyrlingstaff. Z'ku, I'm transferring Ri'len to your group so that you can do the same with him. F'gol will take Ri'len's place as group leader and we'll move one of yours over into his group."

"Yes, Sir." Z'ku gave his fellow weyrlings a disapproving glance. What a pair of dimglows! They'd been told since Candidacy that romantic relationships were forbidden, and dangerous to young dragons.

Ri'len nodded without saying a word. He didn't like the punishment, but he should have thought about that before doing something stupid, shouldn't he?

Meledei's frown deepened as she glanced at Sorsha. The green weyrling wouldn't even look at her. "Yes sir." She stated. She'd talk to Sorsha later, alone.

T'kob had expected some sort of protest, if not from the group leaders, then from the couple themselves. That there was none showed him that they understood the seriousness of their offense. "We'll talk about this more later, right now, spend some time with your dragons so they don't stress anymore. Just remember, stay apart. No more hand holding, hugs, _anything_. If you even attempt it, I'll know." And he made eye contact with Meledei and Z'ku making the point that they'd better not try to cover for them.

Z'ku gave a short nod, agreeing that the Weyrlingmaster would indeed hear about any attempts.

Sorsha gave a quick look back to Ri'len as she walked out with Meledei and Roseth whose eyes were still orange though their swirl had slowed. She couldn't tell by the look on his face what he was thinking or feeling, he wasn't looking at her. She felt her eyes prick with tears again and she looked down to the ground, as she followed her friend away from the barracks.
